About the event

This Sunday, we’re not offering a soft, sentimental tribute. We’re taking a deeper look at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as he truly was— not just a historical icon, but a bold disciple of Jesus who confronted systems of injustice with radical nonviolence and uncompromising faith. As we remember Dr. King on what would have been his 97th birthday, we also confront the reality of 2026—a nation more divided, angrier, and more anxious than many of us have ever seen.


What does it actually mean to follow Jesus in times like these? Not the cultural version… the biblical one. The Jesus who challenged power, lifted the poor, comforted the outcast, refused violence, and demanded that love—not nationalism—set the agenda. We’ll look to Dr. King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and Paul’s call to “put on the whole armor of God.”
