Three churches, one mission
A historic partnership of three downtown Charleston Episcopal congregations, dedicated to racial reconciliation and communal pilgrimage. Rooted in the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina, we are addressing our shared history and forging a path of healing.
For generations, our congregations have been pillars of the Charleston community. Today, we transform the legacy of the Episcopal Church's history into a catalyst for community ministry.
We facilitate "Bending the Arc" racial justice pilgrimages to Georgia and Alabama to confront the history of our region and our faith.
Follow the journey
This work is guided by the collaborative vision of Rev. Ricardo Bailey, Very Rev. Michael Shaffer and Rev. Adam Shoemaker.
We acknowledge the complex history of the Episcopal Church's complicity in the slave trade and the long struggle for civil rights.
By coming together, we transform that legacy into a catalyst for healing.

A message of racial justice and reconciliation
Bishop Michael Curry with Three Churches United
From the music to the message, it was one of those rare mornings when the room felt stitched together by hope, courage and God's fierce, inclusive love.
